Common questions

What happens if I run out of hours mid-month?

We'll flag it before you reach your limit and walk you through two options: upgrade your monthly plan mid-cycle (prorated), or approve a small block of overage hours at a transparent rate. We won't quietly let you blow past your plan without notice.

Do unused hours roll over?

Up to 10% of your monthly hours roll forward one cycle (e.g., 2 hours from a 20-hour Starter plan). Beyond that, hours expire to keep our assistant scheduling predictable.

Do you handle specialist work like bookkeeping or video editing?

Yes, through our Custom / Specialized service tier. We have specialists on call for bookkeeping, video editing, light development, podcast production, and more. We'll scope the work and quote before starting.

Do you offer one-time projects or short engagements?

We focus on monthly engagements where we can learn your workflows and deliver consistent quality. If you have a clearly scoped one-time project — a research report, a deck refresh, a contact list — book a discovery call and we'll quote it as a custom engagement. For ongoing support, the monthly plans are how we work.

Is Adjunct Co. affordable for small businesses?

Our Starter plan ($595/month, 20 hours) is designed for small businesses and solo operators who need reliable, recurring support. We're not the cheapest VA option on the market — we're a managed service, which means you pay for vetting, QA, replacement coverage, and the time we save you on managing the assistant yourself. If you only need 2-3 hours a month of help, we're probably not the right fit. If you need 20+ hours of consistently-good work, we are.

How do you protect client data?

Every assistant signs an NDA before client assignment. We use encrypted password tools (1Password, Bitwarden) for shared credentials and follow your security protocols. We're SOC 2-aligned in our processes, with formal certification on the roadmap.

How quickly can I get started?

Discovery calls are typically scheduled within 48 hours. Once you sign on, your assistant is matched and onboarded within 3-5 business days.

What if my assistant isn't the right fit?

Tell us. We'll reassign you to another vetted assistant at no charge. We'd rather you have the right match than the first match.
